Where to Get a Rental Car

Las Vegas in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world. According to a report from the Las Vegas Sun, Southern Nevada saw record tourism numbers in 2016, with nearly 43 million people visiting the region.

One of the side benefits of having so many visitors to the region is that the city is loaded with cheap and convenient rental car options. Recently, a rental car aggregation website conducted comprehensive a study, finding that Las Vegas has the 4th cheapest rental cars out of the 50 largest American cities.

Whether you need a rental vehicle because you are traveling to Las Vegas for a vacation or a conference, or you are a local resident who is planning on renting a car on a short-term basis for driving in Las Vegas, you need to know where you can find a safe, reliable, and affordable vehicle.

McCarran Rent-a-Car Center is the City’s Hub for Rental Vehicles

As in most cities, many of the most prominent rental car companies in Las Vegas are found at the airport. In 2007, McCarran International Airport opened an official rental car center that is approximately three miles south of the main terminals. There is long-term onsite parking at this facility, and there are 24/7/365 shuttles that take travelers directly from the airport terminals to the Rent-a-Car Center. Though, you can rent cars from here even if you are not flying in or out of McCarran. As of February of 2018, McCarran International Airport reports that there are 11 different rental car companies that are in operation at the facility. These companies include:

  • Advantage Rent a Car;
  • Alamo;
  • Avis;
  • Budget Rental Car;
  • Dollar Rental Car;
  • E-Z Rent-a-Car;
  • Enterprise;
  • Hertz;
  • National;
  • Payless Car Rental; and
  • Thrifty.

Beyond the McCarran Rent-a-Car Center, rental vehicles can also be found at a wide variety of different off-airport locations spread around the city. Indeed, many of the above-listed rental car companies operate other facilities throughout Clark County. Additionally, there are also some rental car companies that serve Southern Nevada which have no current location at McCarran Airport.

What Happens if You Get Into a Rental Car Accident?

Rental car accidents can be especially stressful. Many drivers are confused about what exactly they are supposed to do after being in a collision in a rental vehicle. Please remember to follow the same basic protocols as other accidents:

  1. Safely bring your vehicle to a stop;
  2. Render emergency aid to anyone who needs it;
  3. Report the crash to law enforcement officers;
  4. Exchange information with other drivers; and
  5. Take pictures of the crash.

In the unfortunate event that you are injured in a rental car accident, you should speak to a qualified Las Vegas auto accident lawyer immediately. An attorney will protect your rights and help you recover fair compensation for your damages. You should not be held legally liable for someone else’ negligence or misconduct, and a legal professional can assist you in moving forward with a claim.
