Two Police Officers Charged in Wrongful Death of Las Vegas Driver

Two police officers disregarded orders and pursued a driver without their siren or emergency lights on. The officers wound up slamming their vehicle into the back of the driver’s Honda Civic which caused the Civic to be pushed into oncoming traffic and get into a major car wreck.

The driver lost his life. He was only 27 years old.

The officers suspected the driver was drunk but were told repeatedly by superiors to end the chase. Now, a driver is dead and the two police officers have been charged with reckless driving. One of the officers was charged with vehicular manslaughter, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

It’s frustrating to hear about these kinds of preventable car accidents. If the officers had simply followed orders, maybe this tragic car crash could have been avoided.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and family of the driver who lost his life. Losing someone you love is always difficult, but the pain is even more severe when you lose then in a sudden, preventable accident.
