Earlier this week, we told you about the tragic auto-pedestrian accident in which three girls under the age of seven were struck by a car while crossing a North Las Vegas street in a marked crosswalk. The girls were returning from the park with their two 13-year old sisters and were trying to cross Camino Eldorado near the intersection of Bent Arrow Drive when the accident occurred.

Now we have learned that the six-year old girl who suffered the severest injuries has died in the hospital. She had been unable to breathe on her own for some time after being hit by the car.

The other six-year old has been released from the hospital and has returned home to her family. But her younger sister remains hospitalized in extremely critical condition.

New Community Church in Las Vegas, where the girls attend worship, has set up a fund to assist the girls and their families at the church’s website (www.ncclv.com). In addition, a Facebook page entitled "These Three Angels" has been created to provide updates of the conditions of all of the girls.

A driver of the car involved in the auto-pedestrian accident is a 78-year old woman from Henderson. Authorities are awaiting for the results of toxicology tests that were performed on the driver. But even if these tests come back negative, the woman can still be named as a defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit by the parents of the girl who died from her injuries. Personal injury lawsuits may also be filed on behalf of the two injured girls as well.
