Manhole Rehabilitation to Cause Traffic Delays on Strip

As Christmas approaches, many Las Vegas residents are rushing to get things done before the holiday arrives – like shopping for gifts, decorating homes, and buying food for family gatherings. Well, Clark County is trying to finish the items on its to-do list before December 25 as well – and that includes rehabilitating manholes.

As a result, there will be lane closures this coming week on the Strip, and overnight and morning rush hour traffic will be affected. From Monday through Thursday between 2am and 10am:

  • The inside northbound left turn lane and the southbound right turn lane on Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed at the intersection of Flamingo Road.
  • The two left lanes on westbound Flamingo Road at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed (which will reduce traffic to one lane).
  • The left lane and outside left turn lane of eastbound Flamingo Road will be closed at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard.

All other turning lanes and thru lanes will be open at that intersection.

Since there are pedestrian walkways which span all four sections of pavement at this intersection, pedestrian traffic probably won’t be affected. But if you have to drive on the Strip and pass through or near this intersection during the early to mid-morning hours next week, be aware that there will probably be some traffic congestion in the area. And as always, if you are injured in an auto accident caused by the recklessness or negligence of someone else, seek medical attention immediately and contact a qualified auto accident attorney as soon as possible.
