Emotions can run high when drivers get involved in a motor vehicle collision. Sometimes, this leads to an altercation immediately following an auto accident. This scenario almost always makes things worse for everyone involved in the incident – especially those who were injured in the crash itself.

A 15-year old girl is recovering after being critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas over the weekend. According to authorities, a sedan and a sport utility vehicle collided at the corner of Owens Avenue and Statz Street (which is just west of Mojave Road) around 9pm Saturday night. The drivers of both vehicles allegedly got into an altercation after the collision, and several others were injured enough to require hospitalization as a result of the auto accident. The 15-year old girl has since been upgraded to serious condition. Police believe that alcohol may have played a role in the incident.

At this point, authorities are not sure exactly how the crash took place. But once the investigation is complete, the parents of the 15-year old girl may wish to file a personal injury lawsuit on her behalf against the driver of the vehicle at fault (or against both drivers if they share blame). Such a lawsuit could allow the family to collect reimbursement for ambulance charges, treatment expenses, and physical therapy costs; as well as receive monetary damages for mental anguish. In addition, the other victims who were injured in the crash (or their parents, if the victims are minors) could file similar lawsuits as well.
