Most people associate Las Vegas with warm, even balmy, weather. However, there are times when the temperature drops and winter weather takes grip of the area. This was the case recently and numerous roads were coated with ice.
The icy roads caused a woman to lose control of her car and cross over into oncoming traffic on Highway 50 (Hwy 50) near Dayton, according to kolotv.com. Her car slammed into a Hummer H2. Sadly, she did not survive the accident.
This tragic wreck highlights the risks associated with driving on icy and slippery roads.
If you have to travel of icy roads, remember to be vigilant and cautious while driving in these conditions. Travel at least 10 miles below the speed limit and allow a safe distance between you and the car, truck, or SUV in front of you.
