Parents in the Las Vegas area know that children have a lot of energy. To keep them happy, it is best to find an activity in which they can channel that energy and have fun doing it. One approach which has been employed for years is to buy kids a trampoline.

Unfortunately, children can and do get hurt on trampolines. In the past, kids sustained serious injuries when they bounced and landed on the supports of the trampoline – or missed the trampoline entirely and hit the ground.

In recent years, trampoline manufacturers have installed safety features on their products to prevent such accidents from happening. The most obvious enhancement is a net that completely surrounds the trampoline to keep jumpers from falling off.

But despite these improvements, accidents still do happen on trampolines (like this one, which may be difficult to watch). Kids can get their body parts caught in the nets or other things. They can bounce into each other and hurt themselves. Or they can simply land wrong on the trampoline mat itself.

Injuries which can occur on trampolines include:

  • bruises
  • pulled or strained muscles
  • broken bones
  • broken teeth
  • neck injuries

Therefore, it is important that parents supervise children who are bouncing on trampolines. This is especially important if your kids’ friends or other children are using the trampoline as well. Much like owning a swimming pool, if a child injures himself or herself on your trampoline, you could be held liable for damages in a personal injury case.

If your child has been injured on a trampoline as a result of improper supervision or defects in the equipment, you may want to consider contacting a personal injury lawyer.
